Eastview is a Tribes school. Tribes helps our students to feel included and appreciated by their peers and our staff. Students are respected for their different abilities, culture and interests. They are encouraged to become actively involved in their own learning.
Students are taught four Tribes agreements:
1) Attentive Listening:
- listen with your ears but also your eyes and heart
- to acknowledge one another's ideas and feelings
2) Mutual Respect:
- recognize and appreciate the value and uniqueness of others
- care for yourself, others and property
3) Appreciation and No Put Downs
- treat others kindly and use appreciative statements
- avoid inappropriate behaviour and name - calling
4) Participation and Right to Pass
- pay attention in class by listening and thinking
- to have the right to choose when to participate
At Eastview we recognize the valuable role the community plays in creating positive experiences for our students. Parents are encouraged to get involved in the school by volunteering, attending Home and School and School Council meetings etc.
